Do an albums of the year list but there is still couple of albums that I need to listen to before making any final decisions. So instead I am going to list the albums that I am eagerly anticipating over the next 12 months.
- Lamb of God - Resolution. This has come round really quick and is released in less than 3 weeks. The first few tracks revealed have gone down really well.
- Every Time I Die - Ex-Lives. Title and release date only recently announced but the initial song “Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space” is nothing but promising.
- Meshuggah. No title announced but we have a release date of late March, which hopefully will come round quick as it has been 4 years since the excellent obZen.
- Behemoth. After all the shit that has gone down since Evangelion came out you could forgive them for putting out a weak record, but this is Nergal so you know he won’t be happy with anthing less than brilliant.
- Cancer Bats - Dead Set On Living. These guys are so full of great ideas that you can’t help but be excited by anything they do. And with the Pentagram tour happening in april you would expect a release around that time as well.
- Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind. Being recorded this month, so we can anticipate a late summer/early autumn release. As always high expectations for this band as the past 4 albums they put out are stunning records.
- Gojira. 4 years is a long time to wait for a new album, especially when the last one was as good as The Way of All Flesh was, but we must be patient as creating musical brilliance is not a quick process.
Quick mentions to TesseracT, Periphery, The Ocean and Killswitch Engage also as we can expect new material from them this year too.
