Today is the beginning of a new and potentially expensive habit. Irony is a Dead Scene looks to be the first of many. Let the vinyl collecting begin.
On the verge
Of beginning a vinyl collection, this would simultaneously be a really bad idea and a brilliant idea. Bad because it would end up costing me a lot of money, brilliant because vinyl is fucking awesome.

Anonymous have really been going for it tonight, the loss of megaupload was completely unexpected and the reaction was very well organised and very quick. The list of sites that have gone down under DDoS attacks are not exactly small names and that they are simultaneous rather than one after the other is also impressive.
Well this fucking sucks.
Albums of the Year List
Yeah, I’m doing one of those. I know it’s a bit late but until now I hadn’t heard every album from last year that I wanted to until this weekend and having finally listened to those records, I then needed some time to think about and adjust the list accordingly.

Do an albums of the year list but there is still couple of albums that I need to listen to before making any final decisions. So instead I am going to list the albums that I am eagerly anticipating over the next 12 months.
Lamb of God - Resolution. This has come round really quick and is released in less than 3 weeks. The first few tracks revealed have gone down really well.

Has come to the conclusion that Phil Demmel is the fucking man? He joined Machine Head after their weakest album and having been dropped from their label, then over the next three albums they go on to produce the best material of their careers. It seems to me that he is the major force behind the revival of that band.

In a morbid mood
Been thinking about my funeral. Pretty certain that I care more about the music to be played than who attends. After all a man needs a good final song on the soundtrack to his life.

Its my blog’s 3rd birthday, and I’m not even at 450 posts. Yeah, I’ve made that many posts, infact you’re looking at the words of Mr Prolific himself.
Spent my day
Alternating between listening to the stonking great Touché Amoré album Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me (13 songs taking 21 mins) and Wolves in the Throne Room’s terrific Celestial Lineage (7 songs taking 49 mins).
I don’t think you get much larger differences in the music I listen to in terms of both the song length and the genre, Melodic Post-Hardcore vs Ambient Black...

WatchBehemoth - Lucifer
Not only does this band make great music, they also make great videos. Extremely NSFW videos, but great. What more could you want from a music video than blood, boobs and demonic possession.
Every step I take I leave a small piece of myself behind, soon there will be nothing left.
